Marathon Runner

This Saturday I will be telling the story of trying to run my first marathon. It was a huge moment in my life, and it’s surprising to me that I haven’t tried to write about it sooner.

I think the problem with telling a story like this, about a race, is that it could very easily feel episodic. This is what happened at mile 1. This is what happened at mile 3. I finally figured out a way to frame it so that, hopefully, this isn’t the case. We shall see.

If you are in Northern Virginia on Saturday, there are two storytelling shows, back to back. The event is a fundraiser for Nature House. So come out for a great show, to hear a hopefully great true story about training for a marathon, or to help support nature education.
